Homework Central is back from winter break on January 4th, and runs Monday – Thursday from 3:15 – 5:15pm during the school year. Elementary School students are invited to Homework Central where they will be assisted with homework by high school-age volunteers. Homework Central takes place in the Library’s Learning Center. The adult instructor is Kit Duggan, who is present at all times. This program, like all Library programs, is free. No registration necessary.
Time for Stories!
Bedtime Storytime is a great way for the family to wind down on Monday nights at 6:30 pm (closed January 18th). Join us for good books, games and songs, and though books will be aimed towards the preschool age group, everyone can participate. No registration necessary. Join the group in the Children’s Area of San Lorenzo Library!
Children ages 2 1/2 to 5 years of age should not miss Preschool Storytime at San Lorenzo Library on Wednesdays at 10:30 am. A wonderful mix of picture books, games and songs. No registration necessary! See you there.
The San Lorenzo Library Toddler Time program is for children ages 18-36 months and is held on Thursdays (1/7, 1/14 and 1/21) from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. This fun introduction to books, songs and games for our youngest Library patrons is also an opportunity for the parent to make new friends and socialize. The first half hour is a parent/child participation lap program, and the second half is a free play period when adults can visit, play and observe.
Join Ms. Lenora on January 16th and 30th at 10:30 am for Family Storytime! This storytime welcomes people of all ages, though books will be aimed at the preschool age. No registration necessary. Join us in the Children’s Area!

Duct Tape Wallets Kids ages 9-14 will learn how to make their own wallets out of duct tape on January 6th at 3:00 pm. Space is limited; tickets will be distributed ½ hour before the event at the Information Desk.
Duct Tape Craft Kids ages 6-10 are invited to the Community Room to make a surprise duct tape creation on January 9th at 2:30 pm. Space is limited; tickets will be distributed ½ hour before the event at the Information Desk.
Finger Knitting is an easy way to start learning how to knit, and all you need are your two hands and yarn! Kids ages 6 -14 are invited to the Community Room to learn how to do this fun activity. Space is limited; tickets will be distributed ½ hour before the event at the Information Desk.
Crochet for Beginners: This introductory crochet class is for ages 9-14, and will show the basics of crocheting, such as casting on and making a chain. This workshop is the first of two sessions (first session 1/25/16 at 3:00 pm, second session 2/1/16) and space is limited for class participants – Sign up in advance at the Information Desk. Those who already know how to crochet are welcome to join and help class participants or work on their own projects.
Rock Steady Juggling: Join us in the Community Room on January 13th at 2:30 pm for an interactive show featuring juggling, magic and lots of laughs! All ages welcome.
Celebrate the new San Lorenzo Library’s public art by joining us for an all-ages Family Art Workshop on January 23rd at 2:30 pm! Teaching artist Miranda Bergman is leading 4 projects inspired by images featured in the San Lorenzo Library. Each workshop will feature a unique art project. No sign up required. All families welcome!
Happy, Healthy, Elementary: Presentation on Healthy Eating Kids 8-10 years old are invited to a fun afternoon of interactive games and a special show promoting healthy eating on January 27th at 3:30 pm.
