The San Lorenzo Library’s first Teen Advisory Group (T.A.G.) meeting was a success! We had snacks, came up with some ideas for future Teen events at the library, and discussed the Teen Summer Reading Program. We chose some new posters for the Teen Area, and we wrapped up by making a few changes to our San Lorenzo Library MySpace page.
If you are between the ages of 12 and 19, please stop by the next T.A.G. meeting on Wednesday, December 12th at 3:30pm!

Curing the Holiday Blues at the San Lorenzo Library: An Upcoming Event
Tuesday, December 11
7:00 p.m.
Here’s what the therapist in charge of the event writes about this inspirational evening:
Keeping The Blues At Bay:
How To Handle The Holidays
The holiday season each year can be busy and demanding.
Planning celebrations, re-connecting with friends and family,
balancing family needs with other social demands,
and re-evaluating the events of the year,
it’s easy to feel stressed or overwhelmed.
Come for an informational presentation by members of the
Kaiser Permanente Departments of Psychiatry at Union City and Fremont,
where we’ll be discussing ways to make it through
the holidays with as much fun, and as little stress, as possible.
This program is free and all adults are welcome. Come to the San Lorenzo Library Meeting Room for a dose of mental health.

Are you a high schooler in the San Lorenzo area? If so, the library needs you! We are looking for volunteers to help with Homework Central.
What is Homework Central, you ask? It’s a cooperative program between the San Lorenzo Unified School District and the San Lorenzo Library. Children in grades K-8 come after school to complete their homework. We need YOU to help the students with their work. Homework Central hours are 3:30pm to 5:30pm, Monday thru Thursday. You can choose one day (or more, if you want!) to volunteer.
Do you have a community service requirement for school? Volunteering at Homework Central is a great way to complete your requirement. It also looks great on school and job applications!
If you are interested in volunteering, please stop by the San Lorenzo Library Information Desk for an application.
